The external gear teeth and center spline are separate precision interfaces. Spline fit, effective length and concentricity to the gear teeth all influence assembly and load distribution.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

For splined sun gears, the external gear and spline must be reviewed as two linked tooth systems. The spline fit and effective length should be confirmed together with the external gear datum before process planning.<\/p>\n
