For replacement standard sun gears, confirm the tooth system and mating planet\/ring geometry before using outside diameter as a selection reference. Photos help identify the layout, but measured tooth data control the part.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Standard sun gear selection beyond the basic dimensions<\/h2>\n

Use the complete planetary mesh to validate the part. Outside diameter, tooth count and face width are useful checks but do not replace pitch system, pressure angle, profile shift and mating-gear data.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

For standard discrete sun gears, freeze the mesh geometry and the locating bore or spline before selecting the tooth-cutting and heat-treatment route. Replacement work should compare the existing planets and ring so worn mating geometry is not treated as a new design target.<\/p>\n

Where the source drawing already controls material, heat treatment or tooth accuracy, keep those requirements unchanged. If the drawing is incomplete, add duty data only to close the missing manufacturing decisions.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
