Description
Crémaillères à engrenages droits
Straight-tooth rack solutions for industrial linear travel, replacements and OEM machines.

Direct answer
Straight tooth rack; confirm module/DP/CP and pressure angle. Final dimensions, material, treatment, finish and inspection scope are confirmed for the ordered configuration.
Selection variables
Pitch system
Module, DP or CP must match the mating pinion.
Pressure angle
Confirm from the machine drawing or existing tooth system.
Rack geometry
Body section, length, mounting holes and end features.
Accuracy
State drawing tolerance or target gear quality class.
Material & treatment
Define grade, treatment and hardness when they are design requirements.
Duty
Travel, speed, acceleration, load/force, cycle and environment.
Technical specification table
| Specification | Project / ordering requirement |
|---|---|
| Product family | Spur |
| Tooth pitch | Project-specific module / DP / CP; verify from drawing/RFQ. |
| Pressure angle | Confirm for ordered configuration. |
| Helix data | Not applicable to spur; for helical racks confirm helix angle and hand. |
| Rack length / section | Drawing- and project-specific. |
| Rack body / holes | Drawing-defined dimensions and mounting pattern. |
| Matériel | Specified by drawing and duty; final grade confirmed with quotation. |
| Heat treatment / hardness | Specified by required wear/load behavior and drawing. |
| Tooth finish | Cut / hardened / ground as ordered and technically applicable. |
| Quality / tolerance | Target DIN/ISO/AGMA or drawing tolerance to be stated by buyer. |
| Pinion interface | Matching tooth system; pinion bore/shaft/hub is project-specific. |
| Quantity | Required for quotation and process planning. |
Rack and pinion must be treated as one tooth system
A rack cannot be selected independently from the mating pinion. Confirm the same pitch system and pressure angle, then check helix geometry where applicable. Replacement work should also verify wear and any machine-side geometry that could change the installed mesh.

Long travel needs section alignment
When the axis uses several rack sections, specify the segment length, joint relationship and mounting datum. Installation error can overwhelm the nominal rack accuracy if the machine surface and joints are not controlled.

Material, heat treatment and finish
The process route is selected from the drawing and the performance target. Do not assume a material or hardness from another supplier’s catalogue is automatically the right specification for your machine.
Material grade
State the required alloy/steel grade or allow project-specific selection review.
Traitement thermique
Define the target hardening/treatment condition if required.
Tooth finish
Cut, hardened or ground tooth finish according to the requested configuration.
Protection
Specify corrosion protection only when the environment requires it.
Typical applications
Machines-outils à commande numérique
Long-axis feed systems where stiffness, controlled backlash and repeatable installation matter.
Robot 7th-Axis Tracks
Rack-and-pinion travel for extended robot work envelopes and transfer axes.
Laser Cutting Machines
High-cycle gantry motion that benefits from clean, repeatable linear drive geometry.
Heavy Gantry & Crane Travel
Robust rack drives for long strokes, large moving masses and project-specific duty cycles.
Material Handling Automation
Transfer, shuttle and positioning systems where long travel makes rack drives practical.
RFQ checklist
Attach the rack drawing and send the mating pinion information, quantity and machine duty. For a replacement, include photographs and any markings as secondary identification aids.
Frequently asked questions
Can this product be made to a drawing?
Yes, drawing-based projects can be reviewed. Final feasibility depends on dimensions, tooth geometry, process, quantity and inspection requirements.
Can you guarantee a quality class from this page?
No. The exact class/tolerance is confirmed for the ordered configuration and should appear on the drawing or quotation.
Can the mating pinion be quoted together?
Yes. Quoting both parts helps keep the tooth system and interface controlled.
Send the rack and pinion data as one RFQ.
Include the rack type, pitch system, pressure angle, required length, mating pinion data, target accuracy or tolerance, operating duty and quantity. A drawing is the fastest way to remove ambiguity.
