Selection points

Concentricity & runout
Define the datum relationship among gear teeth, bore/spline/shaft and bearing seats.
Duty
Rated and peak torque, speed, reversals, shock and life influence material/process decisions.
Inspection
Agree the report content before production when tooth or interface verification is critical.
Replacement and custom projects
Sun gears with through-bores or hollow interfaces for compact coaxial planetary arrangements.
For replacement hollow sun gears, verify bore fit, bore-to-tooth concentricity and the mating planet/ring geometry together. Photos can show the arrangement, but the controlled measurements determine interchangeability.
