Sun Gears for Industrial Automation
Automation and servo-driven planetary systems put more emphasis on backlash, concentricity and repeatability. A compact gear still needs a complete interface definition.

Application-specific RFQ checklist
| Tham số | Những điều cần nêu rõ |
|---|---|
| Duty data | Continuous or indexing duty, reversals, speed, acceleration and torque. |
| Geometry | Backlash target, tooth quality requirement and planetary tooth counts. |
| Giao diện | Spline/bore fit, concentricity datums and shaft/bearing arrangement. |
| Risk point | Small errors in runout, fit or backlash can appear as positioning error at the machine. |
Confirm the whole planetary interface
In positioning systems, runout between the sun gear teeth and the shaft or spline datum can become visible as cyclic transmission error, so the datum structure belongs in the RFQ.
If a drawing is unavailable, combine gear measurements with backlash expectations, mating-gear data and the shaft/spline datum so the replacement can be reviewed for repeatability rather than appearance alone.

Precision motion considerations
Reversals make backlash, runout and interface fit visible in the machine, so the gear-to-spline or gear-to-shaft datum relationship matters.
For a new design, define the sun/planet/ring tooth relationship before finalizing the center interface. For replacement work, inspect the planets, ring, carrier support and lubrication condition so a new sun gear is not installed into an already damaged stage.
Use the application to decide which measurements deserve the most attention: peak torque and shock for heavy equipment, backlash and runout for motion systems, or life and documentation for long-duration duty.
