Sun Gears for Construction & Heavy Machinery
Travel, hub and planetary drives in mobile equipment can expose sun gears to shock, contamination and high peak torque. Replacement work should begin from drawings or measured mating components.

Liste de contrôle RFQ spécifique à l'application
| Paramètre | Que spécifier |
|---|---|
| données de service | Peak torque, shock events, starts under load, reversals, operating hours and contamination. |
| Géométrie | Mating planet and ring gear data, especially for replacement components. |
| Interface | Hub, shaft or spline dimensions plus axial retention and bearing relationships. |
| Point de risque | Shock and edge loading can make material, case depth and tooth contact decisive. |
Confirmer l'interface planétaire complète
For mobile drives, tooth strength must be reviewed together with spline or shaft support, lubrication, shock loading and the way the carrier distributes load across the planets.
If the original drawing is unavailable, measure the sun gear together with at least one mating planet and record the ring-gear tooth count, carrier arrangement and any hub or shaft interface.

Heavy-duty replacement and OEM considerations
Travel and hub drives combine shock, contamination and difficult service access; record peak events and mating-component condition, not only nominal torque.
For a new design, define the sun/planet/ring tooth relationship before finalizing the center interface. For replacement work, inspect the planets, ring, carrier support and lubrication condition so a new sun gear is not installed into an already damaged stage.
Use the application to decide which measurements deserve the most attention: peak torque and shock for heavy equipment, backlash and runout for motion systems, or life and documentation for long-duration duty.
