How to Measure a Sun Gear for Replacement
When the original drawing is missing, build the replacement record from the gear mesh and the shaft interface.
Count first
Record the sun, planet and ring tooth counts and the number of planet gears.
Measure the interface
Capture bore/spline, shaft journals, shoulders, keyways, threads and retention features.
Do not infer tooth geometry from OD alone
Outside diameter is useful, but module/DP, pressure angle and profile shift need independent confirmation.

Send photos for identification context together with measured dimensions and the mating components.
