Sun Gears for Planetary Gearboxes
Planetary gearboxes place the sun gear at the center of the mesh. A reliable RFQ must treat the sun gear, planet gears, ring gear and carrier geometry as one system.

Application-specific RFQ checklist

| Geometry | Sun/planet/ring tooth counts, module or DP, pressure angle and any profile shift. |
| Interface | Spline, shaft, bore, bearing-seat and retention details. |
| Risk point | Load sharing and tooth-contact errors can concentrate load on one planet path. |
Confirm the whole planetary interface
Start by identifying which planetary member is input, output or fixed, then verify the sun-to-planet mesh and the ring-gear relationship before manufacturing.
When the original gearbox drawing is missing, supply tooth counts for the sun, planets and ring, plus carrier/center-distance information so the stage can be checked as a complete gear train.
