The manufacturing route follows the drawing: blank preparation and turning, tooth generation, heat treatment, optional finishing, spline/shaft machining and inspection as required.

Process planning around the part requirement
Not every sun gear needs every operation. The process should be selected from the drawing and duty.
Gear cutting
Hobbing or shaping can be used for external tooth generation depending on geometry, access and required process.
Spline / shaft features
Internal or external spline, shaft journals, threads, keyways and retention features are machined to the controlled drawing.
Heat treatment
Material and hardness requirements are applied according to the drawing and application duty; case requirements should be stated explicitly.
Finishing
Grinding or other finishing is used when the drawing requires tighter tooth quality, runout or surface-finish control.
Inspection
Inspection can include tooth thickness/span/over-pin measurements, runout, profile/lead data and interface dimensions as specified.
Inspection should match the risk
A dimensional report is useful only when it covers the characteristics that control assembly and mesh. For replacement gears, bore or spline fit, tooth thickness, runout and mating geometry usually deserve more attention than cosmetic measurements.

Mixed ordersDifferent sun gear or related planetary-component models can be combined when the total order value is around USD 1,500 or above.
Small ordersOrders from 1-2 pieces can be discussed, normally with a higher unit cost.
DeliveryStandard parts: 10-25 working days. Custom components: 20-45 working days. Project equipment: 45-120 working days.
Trade termsEXW, FOB, CIF and DAP are commonly supported. FCA, CFR, CPT, CIP and DDP can be discussed case by case.
